August 2026 Program

Guest Speaker: Jane Haworth

Lecture: Fabric Collage ~ “What It’s All About!”

In this engaging combo slideshow and trunk show, Jane will explore the dynamic world of fabric collage. Discover this growing trend and gain insight into her own creative journey—from her early fish quilts to evolving themes and her latest collage pieces.

You’ll also learn the essentials of creating your own fabric collage quilt; from making an enlarged pattern suitable for collage, the types of fabric and tools needed and her collage technique using glue. Whether you’re new to fabric collage or looking to refine your skills, this lecture will inspire you to experiment and bring your own vision to life in fabric.

Workshop: Rabbit and Lupines Fabric Collage

In this workshop you will work on two patterns; the rabbit and lupine stalks. Starting with the 15” rabbit and using Jane’s forgiving, raw edge fabric collage technique, you will later move onto making flowers. The lupines are more free-form using no foundation. so once you make one stalk you may want to make many!

For her quilt backgrounds she has used mixed media for creating dimension and also various neutrals fabrics including old linens, tablecloths, lace and doilies. These ideas and demos she will share in class. The options are unlimited so think out of the box. This project could be made a wall hanging, part of a bag, pillow or larger quilt.
