2024 Quilt Show Challenge

Amador Valley Quilters members are challenged to create a quilt using the prompt: Stars of Friendship

Use fabric in any technique or combination of techniques you wish. Colors are NOT limited to
Red, White & Blue. Think of what a STAR is – “conventional or stylized representation, typically having five or more points” (Yes, some star blocks, like the Friendship Star block only have four points, that is why it says typically!)

Guidelines:

• A quilt is defined as a sewn project consisting of three layers, top, batting (middle) and
  backing.
• Quilt must be 16×20 vertical, 20×16 horizontal, or 20×20 square
• You can employ any technique or combination of techniques to achieve your depiction
  of the theme (traditional piecing, applique, paper piecing, paintstick, photo transfer,
  thread painting, whole cloth, words, embellishment, etc.)
• Quilt must include a 4” standard quilt sleeve sewn onto the back
• Quilt must have a paper label sewn onto the lower left corner on the back of the quilt
• Quilt must be entered in the show using the quilt entry form. Completed entry forms are due by April 13, 2024. Entry forms will be available in January 2024.
• You must be an Amador Valley Quilters member to enter a quilt.
• Quilts will be turned in to Rhondi.
